Instructions for Authors

Journal of Applied Data Science and Computational Intelligence

1. Originality and Copyright

  • Originality Assurance: Submission of a manuscript implies that the work has not been published previously, is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, and its publication has been approved by all co-authors.

  • Copyright & Open Access: Authors retain the copyright of their published work under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0). Upon acceptance, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license for the first publication and distribution of the work across all media formats.

2. Manuscript Submission Guidelines

  • Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English (US or UK spelling, used consistently throughout).

  • Submission Format: Authors must submit an anonymized PDF file (for double-blind review) along with the source files (LaTeX) electronically to the Editor-in-Chief at akhand@cse.kuet.ac.bd or to a designated member of the Editorial Board.

  • Length Limits: Papers should be limited to 25 pages except for expository articles for Original Research Articles, Benchmark Studies, Review and Survey Articles and Applied Case Studies. Page limits will be 10-15 pages for Data and Dataset Articles, Short Communications and Technical Notes, and Software Articles.

3. IEEE Page Layout and Structural Requirements

Submissions must strictly adhere to the standard IEEE conference/journal format:

  • Document Class: For LaTeX submissions, use the standard IEEE class file:

  • Title & Authors: The title should be concise and descriptive.

    • Initial Submission (Double-Blind Review): Omit all author names, institutional affiliations, contact emails, and acknowledgments to ensure anonymity.

    • Final Camera-Ready Submission: Include full name(s), affiliation(s), and email address(es) of all authors.

  • Abstract: The abstract must be a single, self-contained paragraph of 150 to 200 words summarizing the problem, proposed method, key results, and conclusions. It should avoid citations, mathematical notation, or non-standard abbreviations.

  • Index Terms (Keywords): Provide 4 to 8 keywords or key phrases separated by commas, chosen from standard IEEE terms or domain-specific data science/computational intelligence vocabularies.

  • Mathematics & Equations: Equations should be numbered sequentially in parentheses flush with the right margin. Use LaTeX math mode or standard IEEE equation syntax.

4. Figures, Tables, and Graphics

  • Graphics Formats: High-resolution figures should be provided in PDF, EPS, PNG, or JPG format (minimum 300 DPI for raster images).

  • LaTeX Integration: Include figures using the standard graphicx package:

  • Restrictions: Do not use PSFRAG packages, as pdflatex does not support its commands.

  • Formatting: All figures and tables must be cited in numerical order in the text and accompanied by clear, self-explanatory captions formatted according to IEEE standards (e.g., Fig. 1. System architecture... and TABLE I. PERFORMANCE COMPARISON).

5. Reference Formatting (IEEE Style)

References must be numbered in square brackets [1] in the order of their appearance in the text (not alphabetically). Do not use custom macros for references or citations.

Use the standard IEEE citation formats illustrated below:

  1. Conference Proceedings:

    [1] L. Gross, "Abstract Wiener spaces," in Proc. 5th Berkeley Symp. Math. Stat. and Probab., vol. 2, part 1, 1965, pp. 31–42.

  2. Journal Article:

6. LaTeX Code Requirements

  • Standard Macros Only: Keep custom macros (\def, \newcommand) to an absolute minimum. Use standard TeX/LaTeX commands (e.g., use \omega instead of custom definitions like \om).

  • Source Files: Upon final acceptance, authors will be required to upload all raw .tex source files, figure graphics, and the final compiled .pdf document.

7. Post-Acceptance Procedure

Upon acceptance of the paper:

  1. The corresponding author will receive the official JADSCI IEEE Template package.

  2. Authors must reformat their final manuscript strictly according to the provided IEEE-compliant class file.

  3. Submit the final LaTeX source package (including all .tex, .bib, and graphic files) alongside the final compiled PDF file directly to the Editor-in-Chief at akhand@cse.kuet.ac.bd 

Open Access and No-Fee Publishing Statement

The Journal of Applied Data Science and Computational Intelligence is committed to removing barriers to scientific discovery and ensuring equitable access to academic publishing. To support our global research community, the journal operates under a Platinum (Diamond) Open Access model.

No Article Processing Charges (APCs)

There are no fees at any stage of the publication process:

  • No Submission Fees: Authors can submit their manuscripts for peer review completely free of charge.

  • No Publication Fees (APCs): Authors are not charged any fees upon acceptance or publication of their articles.

Fully Open Access

All articles published in the Journal of Applied Data Science and Computational Intelligence are made freely and permanently accessible online immediately upon publication. Readers worldwide can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles without financial or technical barriers.

Cost Coverage

The costs associated with high-quality editorial services, rigorous peer review management, copyediting, typesetting, digital archiving, DOI registration, and permanent online hosting are fully subsidized by our sponsoring institution(s) and supporting organizations.

Our goal is to ensure that the dissemination of groundbreaking research in computational intelligence and data science depends solely on academic merit, not the availability of funding.
